Most people want to have the chair lift them to their selected height but based on my desk height and bottom chair height I calculated I needed a cylinder that was about 1-3 inches more than the one that failed. This way, when and if it fails it goes to my actual desired typing height and won’t go any lower. For a couple dollars more it was a permanent fix without the problems of trying to get it replaced by a warranty some time in the future. Priceless!

Don’t throw away your office chair! My chair was having issues staying elevated. The existing gas lift cylinder was slowly losing pressure.I purchased this item, replaced the gas lift cylinder and was able to continue using my office chair.Easy fix and no need to go buy a new office chair. This item saved my chair from going in the trash heap.

It holds up allot of weight no problem. Once got old one out, easy to install. No problems.

I like my office chair, but for years wished it was just a couple inches higher. I ran across these and after some measuring decided on this one. It starts out an inch or two higher than the original’s lowest setting, and the travel of the piston is maybe 2 inches more.Perfect for me.Used a pipe wrench (aka ‘monkey wrench’) to remove piston from the bottom of the chair, and a hammer to knock it loose from the base assembly. 10 minutes.Feels sturdy, strong.Yee Hah.

$10 cheaper than another model I bought and it has a longer stroke. I’m a big/tall person and it feels very sturdy
